“I’ll figure it out.”

This has been my go to phrase for as long as I can remember. It is a phrase that allows hope, confidence and procrastination to coexist in harmony. When faced with problems in any stage of my life, even as a young kid I had faith that I would somehow figure it out. Elementary math homework I had no clue how to do? I’ll figure it out. Not sure how to audition for college? I’ll figure it out. Gain weight and need to lose it? I’ll figure it out. Decide to go after a new profession? I’ll figure it out. I am still figuring it out. I think when you are in a stage of life where you think the people around you are starting to figure things out it can become more of a hope or a dream. It can cause you to question if you will ever actually figure it out and that is stressful. I have a secret for you… you know more than you think and you are capable of so much more than you can even imagine. Take one task at a time. Deep breath. You will figure IT out, no matter what IT is.
